IT'S DRESS REHEARSAL TIME!

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Bridal sessions are the best experience, not only will it get you totally excited about your big day, if you aren't on a count down already, but it will allow you to "test" everything out! Think of it like a dress rehearsal! You will have the opportunity to wear your gown and move in it! You can make sure that is fits perfectly and make notes of anything that might need to be tweaked a bit before your wedding day. You will get to see your hair and makeup artist's vision in full completion and adjust, if needed. Get ready gorgeous, let's have some fun!

SCHEDULING YOUR SESSION:

AVAILABILITY.

My weekend session availability is limited due to my wedding photography schedule. Bridal sessions are available Monday-Thursday. If you are hoping to hold your bridal session at your wedding venue, it will likely be unavailable on the weekend due to other weddings and events, so let's plan ahead! Finally, make sure you get all the details from your bridal shop on when your gown is expected to arrive and how long alterations will take.

PLANNING  ON DISPLAYING OR GIFTING YOUR BRIDAL PORTRAITS?

When scheduling your session, think about if you might like to display your portraits on your wedding day, or gift one to your parents. If so, make sure you schedule your session so you have plenty of time to receive your gallery and order your items before your wedding day.

PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION:

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Other than your beautiful self, I suggest bringing a few things to keep you comfortable. First, please bring comfortable shoes for walking from one location to another. Feel free to change into your wedding shoes for your portraits. If it's warm, I reccomend bringing a water bottle and something to blot your face. If it's chilly, bring a big cozy blanket so you can wrap up and warm up in between sets. Don't forget extra lipstick/ lipgloss!

WHO SHOULD I INVITE?

This is such an amazing time, so feel free to share this experience with someone special, like your mom, the groom's mom, your sister and/ or maid of honor. Obviously, you don't want to be overwhelmed with your entire bridal party, but inviting one or two close family members or friends will make your session extra special. Not to mention, your entourage can help carry your extra shoes, all while giving you lots of encouraging compliments!

HAIR & MAKEUP.

Now is the perfect time to have your hair and makeup artist do a trial run! Chat with them ahead of time so they are prepared to create your vision. Find out what days of the week they are available so we can make sure we are able to coordinate.

THE VEIL.

If you plan to wear a veil on your wedding day, I encourage you to include it in your bridal session. This will not only give you variety, but it will allow you to practice taking it out (if you want) so you can do it with ease on the big day. Make sure you get your stylist to explain this process and take notes.

BOUQUET.

If your florist includes a "sample" or "trial" bouquet in your wedding package, this is the perfect solution! If not, no worries! You have a few options. You can contact your florist to see if they will make a slightly altered version of your wedding day bouquet for a more budget friendly option. Or you can pickup some fresh, seasonal flowers from your local market, clip the stems to the appropriate length and tie them together with some simple ribbon or twine. Just plan ahead to make sure the flowers you want will be available when you need to pick them up.

THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION:

PLEASE ARRIVE A BIT EARLY & DO A ONCE OVER.

I am always a few minutes early to bridal sessions so that I can scope out the location and find light that will be flattering on my brides! Because we are racing the sun and cannot shoot after it has set, I recommend arriving 10 minutes early, and giving yourself a quick once over. Please remove athletic watches and hair bands from your wrist. You might want to bring a small bag to put your essential items in.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH.  

You’re going to be an amazing model! I always tell my brides that the best models are those who have never modeled professionally before!  And I mean it! The brides that are usually most nervous are the brides who totally rock their session! So be encouraged! I have worked with every personality type and every body type and I always create images that my clients love! Get excited!

SNEAK PEEK WITHIN 24 HOURS.

Within 24 hours of your session you will see a sneak peek of your session, via text (we cannot ruin the surprise LOL).

GALLERY DELIVERY.

Your full gallery of proofs will be delivered within 7-10 days (sometimes sooner) of your session. You will receive a link to your private online gallery via email and will have the opportunity to choose your favorites and select your images for printing. I will also provide a sharable link, so go ahead and share the joy, just don't let the groom see!
